About Us
Who We Are
Here at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, you will find people of all ages and all stations of life committed to building a welcoming and affirming community. You will find a liturgical Sunday morning service with excellent music and preaching, and a community active in education, advocacy, and art during the week.
Will you find the perfect community? No. Will there be hypocrites around? Possibly. Our Lutheran theology tells us that we are all sinners and saints, at the same time. We are struggling with our own brokenness, and striving to put Jesus first at the same time. We promise that we will welcome you with open arms, and that we will be there to accompany you on your faith journey if you so wish.
We invite you to come and get to know us.
What We Believe
Central to Lutheran theology is the concept of Grace. We believe that God loves us, no matter what. God’s love does not depend on us being perfect. As human beings, we cannot achieve perfection. There will always be sin and brokenness in our lives—sinfulness is a condition humans live in.

Martin Luther defines sins as “The Human Heart Turning In On Itself.” In other words, Luther believes that selfishness is the core obstacle in the human quest to be holy. Humans are capable of great works of love, but sooner or later they always fall prey to their desire to be at the center of the universe. Then they push God from his throne and replace him with the “magic that is me.”
This condition of sinfulness can lead to bad, unethical, and unhealthy choices.
We believe that the reality of human life is that even the greatest saints remain sinners. Good and bad, right and wrong reside next to each other and create a wide variety of shades and textures in human life. There are no bad people who wouldn’t have a trace of good in them. Equally, there are no good people who do not carry within them the capability to be bad.
Recognizing this inescapable duality of the human condition, Lutherans believe that humans are “Sinners And Saints At The Same Time," relying on God’s promise to forgive us our sins for the sake of Jesus Christ.
How We Worship
Whether we meet in a sanctuary, an outdoor field, or someone's living room, we seek to establish, strengthen, and grow a foundation of faith for everything we do. Worship unites us in celebration, engages us in thoughtful dialogue, and helps us grow in faith. A few of the ways we worship at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church include:
Choirs and Chorale
We celebrate the gift of music through our Young Voices Children’s Choir and our Chancel Choir, as well as rehearsals and annual performances by The Northwest Women’s Chorale. We also have a long and vibrant tradition as a venue for concerts and recitals thanks to our sanctuary's excellent acoustics and beautiful Bond organ.

How We Serve
Christian love, known as "agape" in Greek, is not an emotion, but a conviction to show goodwill to every single person that God puts into our path. We express agape by pouring God’s love back into the world again, as agents of God's grace, serving a hurting and suffering world.
Quilts for Lutheran World Relief
Often, when natural disasters strike or war drives families from their homes, our hearts ache with compassion but we don’t know how to help. Making quilts for Lutheran World Relief Mission is a tangible way to express love to our neighbors in need. Quilts can be used as warm bedding, simple tents, or floor coverings. Our quilters fashion and ship quilts by the boxful!
Threads of Love
For those who knit or crochet and want to make a difference in the lives of others, Threads of Love is a ministry sharing the power of love through creativity, by knitting and crocheting beautiful prayer shawls for people in our community and around the world. They gather in the church's Fireside Room from 1:00 to 2:30 pm on the third Wednesday of each month. Learn more here >
